Last month we showed you a 1962 Chev with the new 409-V8 engine. Quarter-mile drag racing was the big thing back then and, like now, the Performance Image helped sell a lot of new cars.

The Big Three were the main contenders and once again, Ford had returned to their familiar token fins and round tail lights.

Ed’s Starliner came with the new 406-V8 and triple carbs. He further upgraded to the famous 427-V8 that powered the Shelby Cobra. When it comes to horsepower, more is better.
