Happy October, Glendale.
Summer is over and autumn is here. I hope you like your rake; you will be spending some time together this month. The simple joy a pile of leaves brings a group of children is certainly worth pausing to appreciate. The turn of the season brings not only a changing landscape but also renewed energy within our association. This past September 10, we held our Annual General Meeting—a wonderful gathering of neighbours committed to shaping our community’s future. We received some great questions and are committed to making further improvements in light of the conversation. I am delighted to announce the addition of two new board members, Nigel and Margaret, whose enthusiasm and fresh perspectives promise to enhance our board.
With October comes anticipation for one of our favourite events: the Halloween Party on October 25! Mark your calendars, and don’t forget to visit our website for tickets (discounted for GGMCA members of course) —this event is sure to be a spooktacular evening of music, costumes, and laughter for all ages. We were near maximum capacity at last year’s party so make sure to reserve your tickets in advance.
Another event at the hall, the Holiday Craft and Art Market will be held on Saturday, November 8 at the hall. Stop by during the day for some holiday shopping and supporting local makers.
By the time this newsletter hits your mailbox it will be near to Thanksgiving. I hope you and your families find time to rest, reconnect, and perhaps enjoy a harvest meal together. From all of us on the board, thank you for your ongoing support and engagement. Here’s to another memorable season in Glendale. Cheers!
Take care,
Myles
President, GGMCA
