Haysboro Hall Happenings
Hello April! Bring on the sunshine and warm weather! The snow is melting and I hope everyone is enjoying more time outdoors. Thank you to all our rink volunteers and snow shovellers for all your hard work this winter! It is greatly appreciated.
Dust off those racquets! Our tennis and pickleball courts will be opening on May 1, 2026. As an HCA member, you have to purchase an HCA Racquetball Club Membership Add-On to book and play on the courts. Bookings can be made online for 30 minutes to max 1 ½ hours duration.
Programs and Events
Do you know the basics of knitting—casting on, knitting, purling, and casting off—but want to build on those skills? These four intermediate knitting classes are the perfect next step. Classes are on Sundays from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the HCA Board Room with Carolyn Joels starting April 19, 2026. Classes will run on April 19, 26, and May 3 and 17. Please note the dates as they are not consecutive Sundays. Register at haysboro.org.
Registration is open on our website for the community Easter Egg Hunt event on April 4 in the natural playground.
Summer Program Registrations are also starting to open at the Hall. Currently, we have Adventures Child Care, a Sewing Camp, and Engineering for Kids. We are currently looking to build up our summer camp offerings. If you have any ideas for summer or PD day camps, please email [email protected].
Seniors Lunch and Learn
Enjoy a delicious lunch (free or by donation) while Iris Spurrell from Carya shares practical, easy-to-use tips on Understanding Your Money Mindset – Why You Spend the Way You Do on April 23 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. More topics will be scheduled every month, so please stay tuned on haysboro.org for updates. Reserve your spot online or by calling the office, and join us for a great meal, valuable learning, and meaningful community connection!
Jellybean Dance
Thank you to those who attended our 2nd Annual Jellybean dance. A great time was had by all, and we would like to thank a number of community businesses who have gifted us items and have given discounts for the preschool concession.
The Preschool’s next bottle drive will take place on April 11 from 9:00 am to noon in the HCA Hall parking lot. Save your empties and drop them off to support our neighbourhood preschool.
Free Tot Time
Every Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 am in the HCA Main Hall. Come visit with other parents and caregivers while the kids play with the room of toys!
Community Mahjong
Every Tuesday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the HCA Social Lounge.
