Haysboro Happenings Community Event

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Haysboro Happenings on September 13! A special thanks to EH Train for filling the day with such beautiful music and to the Calgary Public Library for bringing their Book Truck. It was a wonderful celebration full of food, fun, and the exciting time capsule opening. Don’t worry—there’s still time to be part of history! If you’d like to add something to the time capsule, please drop it off at the office by October 16.

Civic Election Forum

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped organize and run the All Candidates Civic Election Forum on September 28. Thanks to your efforts we had an excellent turnout and a very successful event.

Haysboro Knit Club

Our first Knit Club session is on Sunday, October 5, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. We’ll meet the first Sunday of every month, so mark your calendars for November 2 too. Bring your creativity, your questions, and your enthusiasm—we’re always open to new ideas, so if there’s a class you’d love to see or a new skill you’d like to learn, drop us a line at [email protected].

Haysboro Markets

The last Haysboro Outdoor Market for the season is on October 8 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. We’re now turning our sights to one of Haysboro’s most beloved traditions—the Winter Market on November 29 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This festive event is always a highlight of the season, filled with local vendors, holiday cheer, and the perfect opportunity to gather as a community. You won’t want to miss it! If you’d like to join us as a vendor, please visit our website or email [email protected].

Energy Efficiency Workshops

In partnership with Green Calgary and Enmax, we’re excited to offer two energy efficiency workshops at the HCA. Energy Efficient Futures: Introduction on October 22 (7:00 to 8:00 pm) and the Advanced Energy Efficiency Workshop on November 26 (7:00 to 8:00 pm). Learn practical tips to make your home more energy-efficient and sustainable—visit haysboro.org for details and to reserve your spot!

Parenting Workshops

We’ve partnered with LEAD and Julie Freedman-Smith to offer parenting sessions for caregivers of both younger and older children at the HCA. These valuable and interactive sessions are designed to support and inspire you in your parenting journey. Read the full article in this month’s Horn and visit our website to register today!

Seniors Lunch and Learn

Join us at the HCA on October 23 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm for our next Lunch and Learn. Enjoy a nourishing lunch (free or by donation) while Iris Spurrell from Carya presents Creating Your End-of-Life Binder. Space is limited—reserve your spot today at haysboro.org or by calling the office.

Haysboro Haunted Hall

The Haysboro Haunted Hall is back! Join us on October 31 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm for a spooktacular adventure through the hall—perfect for kids and families! A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers who stepped up to bring this magical (and spooky!) event to life.

Exciting news for October! Forte Music Studio is bringing piano, guitar, voice lessons, and early childhood music classes right here to the hall—perfect for budding musicians of all ages!

And that’s not all! FLUID Dance Studio is also offering new dance classes at the hall for children ages four and up. Explore Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz-Modern, Improvisation, and Stretching, all designed to spark creativity, confidence, and fun!
