Dear Haysboro Residents,

As we move into the winter season, I’m excited to share a few updates and reflections on our community. While our terrific president, Andrew Forsyth, normally writes this message, some of us board members wanted to help out and offer our own Haysboro perspective.

Since taking on the role of Secretary for the Haysboro Community Association in June 2024, I’ve discovered just how fascinating it is to be part of this board. From learning about solar panels to rink maintenance and upcoming developments, I’ve come to appreciate what makes our community so special.

As we approach our winter celebrations, I encourage you to take a walk around Haysboro. Explore our neighbourhood and uncover the hidden gems that make it unique. You’ll also notice the positive changes happening in our vibrant, ever-evolving city. We’re lucky to live in this little pocket, and it’s essential to stay engaged with these transformations.

I hope you had a chance to visit the Winter Market on November 30 at the hall. January will bring cold weather, perfect for ice skating, so dust off those skates and check out the rinks at the hall! With benches and a fire pit (just bring your own wood), it’s a great spot to enjoy some hot chocolate and connect with your neighbours. You might be surprised at how easily you can connect with others—there’s often less than six degrees of separation when you start chatting!

Wishing you all a wonderful winter filled with family time and community spirit.

Warm regards,

Arden Turnbull

Secretary, Haysboro Community Association
