Things can and do change, and quickly. The newsletter is not frequent enough to communicate things that are changing on short notice in regard to the community association, the community centre, and community events.

We Need Pictures of the Community
While the June newsletter had a picture of our community, some previous covers of our newsletter did not. If you see a great picture subject and have a high-resolution camera, please take a picture and send it to [email protected]. We will acknowledge your submission if used.
Another Successful Lilac Festival
The weather cooperated and the people came (100,000 of my closest friends). That compares to the first Lilac Festival that was in 1990 when around 8,000 people attended. Elsewhere in this newsletter is a list of the people who helped out at our community table.
Picnic Potluck 2023
This year’s picnic potluck is on Sunday, July 9. Weather permitting, this is held outdoors. If the weather is bad, it will be held indoors. Set up is at 4:00 pm and the event is at 5:00 pm.
Movie in the Park 2023
This year’s Movie in the Park is scheduled for Saturday, July 22. The movie this year is The Avengers. Weather permitting, this is an outdoor event. If the weather is bad, it will be held indoors. History Book Available at Community Events
We have sold over 650 copies of our award-winning history book. Learn about the history of your community in a very readable text with lots of pictures and maps. Cost is still $30 (basically cost recovery). Copies are available at all events at the community centre.
