Community Crop Garden Society – Come Join Us This Spring!
If you do not have the space at home to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers, join a community garden.
Enjoy healthy eating and learn sustainable agricultural practices.
Not only do you get fresh produce, but you can also make new friends, catch up with neighbours and get some fresh air and exercise.
Community Crop Garden Society is a non-profit, volunteer-driven gardening society. We have three pesticide-free garden sites in central southwest Calgary totalling 121 allotment garden beds.
Our three garden sites have been an integral and active part of our community since the first garden was built in 2007 beside the Marda Loop Communities Association (MLCA) building.
South Calgary Garden (next to the MLCA building)
There are 45 garden plots, a large perennial garden, a native plant garden and a shade garden.
Currie Booster Garden
This garden has 36 garden plots. There are gooseberry and haskap bushes as well as a large rhubarb patch.
Alternative High School Garden
The 40 garden plots, in two sizes, are laid out in a circular pattern.
In 2023, 2024, and 2025, respectively, our Alternative High, South Calgary, and Currie Booster garden sites were renovated, and all garden beds were replaced with galvanized metal raised beds.
All are welcome and anyone may request a garden bed. To join us for 2026, please email us at [email protected].
