Another busy fall season is here, hope all the hustle of back to school and work is keeping your mind off the end of summer vacations. Although short, fall is so beautiful here and I hope you can take a moment here and there to savour it.

Summer was busy at PBPCA too. Thanks to our community coordinator Jen Sherstabetoff for organizing and to board members Irwin Rajesky and Kevin Taylor for planning and implementing our facility rejuvenation activities. Our small garden in front of the hall was beautifully fixed up, the boardroom and hallways inside were painted and walls protected. The storerooms were reorganized and meeting room chairs and tables refreshed. Seedlings Preschool continued all summer and Pedalheads bicycle camps went on, everything happening at once thanks to lots of cooperation from all.

The PBP Community Cleanup day on July 27 was a great success. We had cars lined up all morning and managed to help everyone out who was dropping off unused items of all sorts. Amazing how much stuff can be smashed (literally) into those garbage trucks! Metals and electronics recycling were there too and next time we’ll look to have more recycling options. Charities also were taking in clothing and sports equipment. The give and take table overflowed at times, but many people took home some great stuff. Thanks a ton to Lindsay Phillips and all the volunteers for a great job of making it happen.

With the vision to foster and enhance opportunities to connect with each other in our beautiful community, a place to belong is important to us all. More activities are planned and important community issues come around often; membership in the community association is an easy and inexpensive way to stay connected and in the know. Please use the QR code in this newsletter to join or look on the PBPcommunity.ca website.

I can be reached at [email protected] anytime for comments, questions, or concerns.

P.S. We still need a board Treasurer! No experience necessary, four to five hours a month and training available.
