I would just like to highlight what has been happening/going on behind the scenes this past month, in no particular order:

  1. We were excited to see the Development Application for the Currie Stables, and happy to support the application to allow for the Burwood Distillery and restaurant project. We look forward to having these additional amenities in our communities.
  2. Development tends to slow down at this time of year, but we have seen (and supported) a couple of applications for additions/renovations to our existing homes. It is wonderful to see these small updates to our community that maintain our character and preserve our urban canopy.
  3. We were happy to provide a letter of support for Knox Presbyterian Church’s New Horizons for Seniors grant application. Knox is hoping to provide more social events and programs for our seniors, as well as a technology hub for seniors and other residents who have limited access to these resources.
  4. We are still working on setting up a meeting with Councillor Walcott with regards to Richmond Green. We have suggested that the OWC land be used for cooperative housing instead of selling the upper baseball diamonds.
  5. We are still waiting on our 2020 audited financials but will call a SGM once they are completed.
  6. Thank you, Jill Smolkin for getting bags made in memory of Shirley Williams, and for donating half of the proceeds to the RPCA (and the other half to the SPCA). The bags were beautiful, and Shirley would have loved them! Your donation of $240 to the RPCA is much appreciated.
  7. We hope that 2022 is off to a great start for all of you! We also hope that things open up further so that we can get our Volunteer Appreciation organized.
