Spring is in full swing around us and there is nothing better than flowers and leaves starting to bud to bring the bright colours of the season.
With COVID restrictions still in place, there really isn’t all that much to talk about. At the end of April, in partnership with the City of Calgary, we hosted our annual cleanup. I’m going to assume (since I’m writing this at the beginning of April) it was a successful day, and everyone was able to benefit from these services. In June I will provide a better update on this event!
Our AGM is scheduled for Thursday, June 10. It will be starting at 7:00 pm and will take place at the Community Hall. This date is subject to change depending on the gathering restrictions that may be in place. For this year, we will allow for members to join virtually as well. We do require community members that are in good standing, holding valid memberships, attend this meeting. Please consider joining in! There are few positions that remain open:
- Vice President
- Director of Membership
- Director at Large
Serving on the board of a community association has been a great experience for me. It has allowed me to grow in my career and education, as well as connect with some amazing neighbours. I hope there are some people out there that are looking for growth and want to support their community at the same time.
Seeing as we have been in and out of lockdowns for over a year, I sincerely hope that everyone continues to be well during this year.
