Greetings!
This month I will be keeping my message brief. We just ended our fiscal year-end on August 31, and the focus of our board is on the completion and approval of our business plan and budget for the next fiscal year which commences on September 1. We are also preparing for our Annual General Meeting of our members which will take place in the Summit Room of Rundle College at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30. Our bylaws require that the membership review and approve our year-end financial statements and the election of board members for the new fiscal year. Please note this date on your calendars and stay tuned for more details regarding our AGM.
At this time, I also wish to announce that we currently have two new openings on our board of directors. Two key positions are now vacant, Director – Events and Director – Traffic Safety. We are tentatively planning an adult social wine and cheese event for 2025 but it is dependent on our ability to recruit a new events director. Also, the Traffic Safety Director is a key position that advocates on behalf of residents on solving traffic safety issues in our community with the City of Calgary. If either of these positions are of interest to you, I would be pleased to meet with you to discuss in more detail. As these are volunteer positions, we need to take into account the time commitment that our volunteers are able to make, and we are always very accommodating in this regard.
