President’s Message
Greetings,
Welcome to April, and hopefully spring!
I wanted to focus this month’s President’s Message on volunteerism. All board members and volunteers of the SBHCA donate time and talent to make our community a better place. In 2025 alone, we collectively spent over 1,400 hours managing the community association, offerings (e.g. outdoor rinks), planning and development, events, and communications.
SBHCA Planning and Development
SBHCA Planning and Development team members volunteered over 50% of the 1,400 hours in 2025. With the amount of development on Springbank Hill continuing to grow, we have a need to grow the number of volunteers on the SBHCA Planning and Development Committee. Examples of developments coming down the pipeline include:
· A very large Truman development in Montreux with 1,531 homes;
· William Blake Homes 22 to 24 single detached family dwellings in lieu of 41, 49, and 57 Elveden Dr SW; and
· 71 and 131 St Moritz Dr SW.
These developments, and many more, require the attention of the SBHCA Planning and Development Committee and Board. If you are interested in becoming a member of the P&D Committee, I encourage you to reach out to Stephen Carter-Edwards (SBHCA Vice President, P&D Chair) at [email protected].
To further assist in SBHCA strategic focusing on P&D, we are implementing a very structured approach to manage our P&D efforts via a committee and best-in-class processes. This information will be posted on the SBHCA website soon.
Social Media
If you have a High School or University student in your home that is looking for volunteer hours, and enjoys social media content creation, we are looking for someone to help use on this front. Please contact me at [email protected] if you have a family member that is interested.
