A May Message from the Woodcreek Vice President

Hello, Woodcreek Residents,

We hope this message finds you all coping with the new normal that COVID-19 has imposed on us. For those who have become ill, lost a family member or friend, or are struggling with the financial impact, we are thinking of you.

As you are probably aware by now, the community centre building is closed to any activity and everyone, apart from our fabulous office manager, Sue Larson, and our super handy building maintenance manager, Al Evenson. The executive is in touch with each other and the office staff weekly to ensure we have an operating building to return to when this is all over.

Our website is being kept up to date with any and all relevant information. Please check www.woodcreekcommunity.ca if you are unsure about anything. We are still able to process memberships via our website. Our social media is, as always, being managed by Kat Macaulay. I know there are other Woodbine and Woodlands Facebook pages out there and, from what I see, we are doing what Woodcreek residents do best, lending helping hands.

Please remember to check in on your neighbours. Smile and wave at the people who walk in your neighbourhood. Be kind to our community businesses and their employees. Practice social distancing, even when it is really hard not to give that hug. Stay home as much as you can (stay the blazes home for those with Nova Scotia blood). Listen to the doctors who keep us up to date with the best practices for staying healthy. Send positive thoughts or prayers to our essential service workers; without them, this would be so much harder. Woodcreek, we can do this if we all do this.

We are looking forward to seeing you all soon. We will keep you informed of any new cancellations, but for now, it is safe to say WCA won’t be hosting any events until at least July. Fingers crossed we can hold our Stampede Breakfast.

Stay safe and stay well,

Cheryl MacLeod
