The City of Calgary has a plan to increase the urban tree canopy from 8% to 16%. The Woodcreek Tree Ambassadors are working with the city on this multi-year initiative. There were 183 trees planted in the communities of Woodbine and Woodlands over the past two years. The picture shows the effort the City of Calgary has put into maintaining trees in Woodcreek.
We have some exciting initiatives for 2026. This includes a large bed of trees planted in Woodlands Park; enhancing the entrances to our communities with the addition of more trees and replacement of missing trees; exploring tree plantings along medians on our larger roads; and hosting a community tree planting event (get the kids ready)!
