Help improve the appearance of Woodcreek and maybe meet some of your like-minded neighbours on May 24, 2025.
What is it? A volunteer community tidy-up of our sidewalks, green spaces, and pedestrian alleyways. This is in addition to the annual Cleanup Day at the Woodcreek Community Centre, held on the same day.
When? Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 10:00 am to noon.
Where? Anywhere in the Woodlands and Woodbine area where you have seen litter or accumulations of leaves and similar things; for example, sidewalks, bus stops, green spaces, and pedestrian alleyways.
Who? Everyone in Woodlands and Woodbine is invited to participate in tidying up our own community.
How? Please use your own tools such as ‘trash grabbers’, brushes, shovels, and garbage or compost bags. To make this a zero-cost tidy-up, we ask that you please put what you collect in your own bins back home. This is the first year of a community tidy-up; if there is enough support, we could arrange a large central bin in the future.
Why? Our neighbourhood is quite well maintained, but The City does not have the resources to clean every corner of it. This event is also an opportunity to be able to say hi to your neighbours out there sharing your willingness to volunteer. Limiting the hours to just 10:00 am to noon will help us all interact.
Safety. Obviously be aware and considerate of cars, children, and other people. Don’t go on private property. Use good gloves to avoid contact with anything unpleasant or sharp. Although it may be tempting, don’t use power tools such as mowers or trimmers as these increase the chances of someone being hurt.
