Woodcreek Community Association (WCA) held our 15th annual Woodcreek Community Craft Sale on November 8, 2025, which was a cool and pleasant day. We are pleased to report that our sale was successful with over 600 persons attending the sale. Many thanks to those “customers” who brought food contributions for the Community Pantry.

As in previous years, many applications from the Woodcreek area and the surrounding communities were received for the 25 available spaces which required that all sale items be handcrafted. In addition to the many handcrafted crafts for sale, the vendors contributed to the success and atmosphere of the sale by donating a crafted item for a door prize. Their generosity and craft skills are appreciated by the WCA and customers. A new craft, 3D printing included many interesting items created by a 3D printer. A shout goes out to a vendor, Jennifer Irvine, (Finery and Feathers) who sold poppy earrings from which $107 has been donated to the Poppy Fund.

Among the vendors, there were two returning vendors from the Woodcreek Seniors group – Baking and Knitting/Crocheting tables. These four tables are designated as donation tables as their proceeds are donated to charities/organizations, and local recipients are chosen. The few remaining food items at the sales’ end were taken to our Community Pantry by the Woodcreek garage. Both groups express thanks to the many who donated items and supported their tables.

After a six-year absence, yarn bombing reappeared at the WCA site – Craft sale sign, tree trunk sweaters, bench cover, basketball candy striped pole, and eavestrough pompoms. The knitted coverings provided a bright colourful tone to our fall environment. One contributor remarked that the tree coverings indicated that the trees had grown in circumference during their absence. Unfortunately, someone shamelessly stole one of the tree sweaters. Nevertheless, “Welcome back bombers!” and hopefully, the theft incident will not deter future “bombing” visitations. Another vendor, Larissa Klimanova (Greenviron) added a touch of colour with her outdoor display of festive planter arrangements.

The Woodcreek Scouts provided refreshments, snacks, and a lunch menu of pizza and chili. Their entrepreneurial efforts included popcorn, bracelets, and jelly sales, and were very successful. Thank you to the Scouts and their leaders for their contribution to the sale.

A large thank you also goes to the community for their continued support and great turnout. It is always appreciated when the community supports local crafters and community events.

Mark your 2026 calendar for our next annual Craft Sale on November 7, 2026.
