Even though there was a somewhat challenging start to the gardening season with cool weather and water issues this year, our “busy bees” were out on June 1 to tidy up and put some finishing touches on the community garden area. The perennial beds and strawberry/herb garden are looking much better with new plants added and most of the weeds and grass removed. Multiple other garden tasks were also completed. Garden boxes are showing some wonderful crops too…despite our water shortage. Thanks to all who came out to help on the workday and to those who did some prior work in the days before.
