After another long winter, the HCG is excited for summer! 2023 is looking to be another great growing season in Hawkwood and gardeners have been busy preparing their growing boxes for this season. It is exciting to see the “busy-ness” happening at the garden!
Important information for all gardeners/community members: the raised boxes are all rented by individuals with the exception of the raspberry box and the flower boxes under the backstop. The “community” areas include the fruit trees and bushes, rhubarb/herb garden, perennial beds, etc. At this time, everyone should have signed up to help care for one of the communal areas and everyone is welcome to share in their produce. Please keep in mind that the “share” part is to have some but not all.
The Hawkwood Community Garden is a truly special space and gets more established and better each year. We are fortunate to have this space so close to us, to be enjoyed by all ages, and we welcome you to be a part of it!
