The end of the school year is quickly approaching, and our staff and students are readily making plans for the upcoming school year. Our grade 6 students are beginning to think about junior high and end of year activities and commitments including PAT exams and our grade 6 farewell and end of year mass.
As always St. Teresa of Calcutta is buzzing with activities. Our grade 5 and 6 participating students are enjoying developing their volleyball skills in an after-school volleyball camp taking place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We look forward to a game against the teachers taking place at the end of June. May 25, we celebrated our Me to We Market. What a great opportunity to involve our local and school community in raising funds to support Me to We initiatives. BOKS (Build our Kids Success), a before school fitness program has another session for our Div. I students and we look forward to one more session with our Div. II students. Students have an opportunity to work on activities that build fitness and strength in an atmosphere of fun, while at the same time preparing their brain for a day of learning.
At the end of June, we look forward to celebrating our volunteers with a Volunteer Tea thanking our volunteer community for all they do to support our school. Activity day will take place as well and we hope for a day full of sunshine and fun.
Planning has begun for the upcoming school year and we have enjoyed receiving many new registrations helping to grow our St. Teresa of Calcutta family. We continue to accept registrations for kindergarten and grade 1. All are encouraged to inquire.
We continue to support special events to raise money for a new playground. Special thanks to our Foundation of St. Teresa of Calcutta for such events as bottle drives and a special evening event in February to support the fundraising process. Special thanks also to our School Council for the spring flower fundraiser. We look forward to welcoming a new school year with a back to school barbecue in early September.
