On February 15, the Kirby Sewell Trio returns to WHMCA’s Nose Creek Concerts series with a presence as soulful as it will be electric! Kirby’s having fun putting a Blues/Gospel/Soul spin on a range of rock classics from artists like Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, The Eagles, Otis Redding, and more. From McCartney’s melodic elegance to Simon’s storytelling, from Clapton’s raw blues to Bowie’s edge, this Trio will take you on a musical journey that can quickly move from the rich resonance of gospel to the lively streets of New Orleans.
Kirby’s rich baritone with his bluesy grit blends effortlessly with the vocals of long-time collaborators, Jerry Proppe (piano) and Jeff Meszaros (guitar). Join us for an afternoon of the best Calgary has to offer.
