March is normally the start of spring in Calgary, or at least the month of the last major snowstorm of the winter. Given the unseasonably warm weeks in the first half of February, one could be forgiven for thinking March might be the start of summer this year. Unfortunately, this meant that the WHMCA ice rink melted into the grass much earlier than desired.
Many thanks to the rink committee led by Blair Cosgrove, Joseph Chan, and Dave Ironside.
The “Ice Men” included: Logan (who also repaired the rink nets), JF Gagnon, Jason Abbate, Klutch Chahal, Ryan Graham, Xavier LaPrairie, Tyler, Jeremy Walls, Jared, Grant MacEachern, Don Barrett, Darcy, Omar A, and Stephen Carey.
Thanks also to Shawn Gostola and Craig Baskett for maintaining the Marsden Park ice rink!
This newsletter includes articles on: progress made by the Power Line Committee, recaps of recent events, and an announcement by the brand-new Community Chicken Coop Pilot committee. Enjoy!
Want to Build Community? Pull Up a Chair.
The Winston Height-Mountview Community Association is looking for people to be part of a welcoming group that works together, shares ideas, and has a few laughs along the way. Whether you join the Board of Directors or one of our committees, your voice can help shape the community events, programs, and spaces that bring people together.
You don’t need special experience, just an interest in your community and a willingness to participate.
Urgent need for Communications and Facility and Operations at both the board and committee level.
Board Meetings:
First Tuesday of each month (except August) at 7:00 pm in the WHMCA Hall.
Come see what it’s all about. No long-term commitment is required to attend a meeting.
