Now that September is here and the kids are back to school, our seniors’ group will be moving indoors to play cards and games every Thursday from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. New participants from Midnapore, Sundance, and adjoining areas are always welcome to join us for a social afternoon of chat, games, snacks, and connecting. We offer a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Please drop in to meet us or join in on one of the games.
Over the summer, the group enjoyed weekly cards in the social shed or outdoors in the adjacent courtyard at Mid-Sun Community Centre. In July, a potluck supper was held at Midnapore Lake. Everyone enjoyed perfect weather for relaxing outdoors, sharing delicious food, and participating in friendly games of bocce and croquet. In August, we experienced a “new-to-us” venue at RIPS in Millrise for our monthly Pub Nite.
As this article goes to publication, a group of Calgary seniors from Mid-Sun and adjacent communities will be relaxing and enjoying the spectacular scenery of Waterton Lakes National Park on a planned, very affordable seniors’ day trip. Many of our activities are subsidized through a New Horizons for Seniors grant.

• An informative speaker session to learn about opportunities for senior care.
• Save the date for December 8 and plan on attending our Christmas Turkey Dinner social at the Mid-Sun Community Centre.
