Rise Calgary, our local community resource centre, continues to support our community members with addressing food insecurity, housing stability, and utility disconnections. Rise offers a range of programs including financial coaching, employment, and career services, the earn and learn matched-savings program, and mobility coaching.
In their ongoing effort to provide more volunteer opportunities for community members, Rise is working towards increasing their capacity. As part of this initiative, Rise Calgary is developing a learning platform that will feature a series of e-modules designed to educate, and train practicum students and community volunteers, transforming them into resourceful humans. Each module will deliver guidance, and instruction, progressively equipping newcomers with the behaviours, knowledge, and skills necessary to assist members of Ranchlands effectively and empathetically.
