On Friday, September 13, Fairview Community Association hosted our annual Movie in the Park; while the weather earlier in the week was resembling a hurricane on the prairies, by Friday it managed to be a warm and dry evening, perfect for watching an outdoor movie.
The local 253 Scout troop provided a concession with tasty hamburgers and hotdogs, candy, and drinks. Sweet and salty popcorn by Olde Fair was also for sale.
A giant thanks to Fresh Air Cinema for providing a new-to-us LED screen. About 200 people viewed Migration which was able to start earlier than our usual 9:00 pm. Pre-movie bouncy castle entertainment from Orbitz included a pirate boat and a basketball slide. The door prize of best in the house seating was won by Oliver!
We would like to say an enormous thank you to all the community volunteers who helped make this happen – Dave, Melody, Ashlyn and friends, Les, and Regan. Without your volunteer power, these events wouldn’t happen!
We’d love to hear your feedback! Would you like to help plan our events? What would you like to see next year? Would there be interest in a double feature event, kids in the afternoon and teens/adults in the evening? Let us know! Email [email protected] or leave us a message at 403-252-5424.
