As we celebrate a significant milestone – the 65th anniversary of the Fairview Community Association – it’s a perfect time to reflect on our rich history. Recently, while sifting through some old memorabilia, a vintage Fairview Community Association pin came to light, featuring our original logo: the magnificent Eagle. This find is a reminder of our community’s story, highlighting how this symbol is an important part of Fairview’s heritage.
The Eagle wasn’t merely a design choice; it was a reflection of our collective identity, born from the spirited Fairview Eagles community and school sports teams. For generations, these teams have been a source of pride, with countless young athletes taking to the fields and rinks – from flag football to hockey – all representing the competitive drive and camaraderie that defines our neighbourhood.
For many years, this iconic Eagle logo held a place of importance as the official emblem of our Community Association. It was more than just a logo; it was a symbol of our shared aspirations and unity. Its presence was proudly displayed on the side of the Fairview Community Association building, a visible reminder of our collective spirit.
While our Community Association’s branding has since changed to reflect our established, unique, and evolving mission, the Eagle’s legacy continues to soar. It remains a cherished symbol within our community, including at Fairview School. Here, the Eagle is not just an image, but an active part of their identity, proudly featured in their slogan: “Come Soar with the Eagles”. This enduring presence at the school serves as a reminder that despite changes over time, we are all connected through a shared history and a vibrant, continuing community spirit.
