Dear Neighbours and Friends,

As December wraps us in its wintery embrace, we find ourselves reflecting on the year gone by. 2025 has been a journey filled with growth, challenges, and beautiful moments of connection and collaboration. Whether it was a cheerful wave at a community event, a shared laugh, or a quiet act of kindness, each of you has helped make our neighbourhood feel more like home.

At the heart of everything we’ve accomplished are the incredible volunteers who give so generously of their time and spirit. These community heroes work tirelessly behind the scenes organizing events, lending a hand, and making sure our community continues to thrive. To every one of you: thank you. You are the heartbeat of our success, and we are endlessly grateful.

A Few Highlights from 2025 From Your SCA CA

• A Fresh New Website: We’ve launched a warm and welcoming new online space for SCA CA, complete with virtual tours and easy booking for potential renters. We would love to hear your feedback on the new look!

• Building Improvements: In partnership with the City of Calgary, we’ve repaired and enhanced the aging structural columns around our facility, wrapping them in sleek white aluminium to improve both durability and visual unity. You may have also noticed a safer parking experience thanks to the SCA CA’s efforts to repair and fill potholes in the main lot. Earlier in 2025, we identified significant water intrusion from the roof into the main hall. After a thorough evaluation, it was determined that the gutters required cleaning and the eaves needed repairs. Since completing this project, we’ve successfully prevented further water from entering the hall.

• Secured Storage Spaces: We’ve replaced and reinforced the lower-level tractor and storage doors, keeping our community’s assets safe and sound.

• Memorable Events: Despite unpredictable weather, our Stampede celebration attracted nearly 900 attendees! And our first-ever Halloween Carnival was a hit, with around 280 community members joining in the fun.

Looking Ahead to 2026

We’re excited to continue investing in your community space introducing new programs, enhancing digital tools, and creating more opportunities to gather, learn, and play. Our goal remains simple: to offer you and your loved ones a safe, clean, and joyful place to belong. As always, we are interested in hearing from our members and the community in general. If you have any questions, suggestions or concerns, please contact us and let us know your thoughts. We are always interested in hearing from you.

No matter where you’re reading this from, we wish you a warm and peaceful holiday season. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and heartfelt wishes for a bright New Year. We are honoured to have served the community in 2025 and look forward to many more memories in 2026 and beyond.

With gratitude,

Your Board of Directors
