As we wrap up an incredibly productive year at the Marda Loop Communities Association, I want to take a moment to recognize and thank the people who make our community such a special place to live.

First, on behalf of the entire board and our membership, I want to extend our deepest gratitude to Kevin Forbes for his eight years of dedicated service to the MLCA. Kevin has been a steady, thoughtful leader whose impact will be felt for many years to come. We wish him all the best in his new role and thank him sincerely for everything he has contributed to our community.

I also want to thank Alyssa Yeomans for stepping up and providing strong leadership as we work through the transition period and begin our search for a permanent replacement. Your willingness to jump in and support the organization is deeply appreciated.

A very special thank you goes to Rebecca Naidoo, who has gone above and beyond by holding down three board positions and serving as an incredible resource to the MLCA. Rebecca’s generosity with her time, her expertise, and her calm, capable presence has made an enormous difference. We are deeply grateful for the many ways she has supported our board, our programs, and our community.

To the Executive, Board Members, and all of our exceptional volunteers—thank you. Your energy, commitment, and vision have driven meaningful progress this year. From events to planning, from facilities to community engagement, nothing we achieve would be possible without your efforts.

Looking ahead, I’m incredibly optimistic about the year to come. We are actively developing several exciting initiatives that will enhance the experience of all community members and continue strengthening Marda Loop as a vibrant, inclusive, and connected neighbourhood.

As always, we rely on the passion of our volunteers to bring these initiatives to life. We are currently seeking additional support for several key roles, including:

• Vice President

• Director, Events

• Director, Facilities

• Director, Volunteer Engagement

• Committee Members (multiple areas)

If you’ve ever considered becoming more involved—or know someone who might be a great fit—now is a perfect time to join us. Your voice and your effort truly make a difference.

Thank you again to everyone who continues to invest time, care, and leadership into our community. I’m excited for what we will accomplish together in the year ahead.
