Every Brick Tells a Story

Community members have dedicated almost 180 Anniversary bricks since 2017. The brick pathway in front of the Cookhouse here at the Bow Valley Ranch is an everlasting reminder that that so many people care greatly about the sustainability of this park. Bricks have been dedicated as gifts to friends and family members, in celebration of an anniversary or the birth of a child, as a memorial to a loved one who passed, and for many other reasons. Bricks in the Third Phase of the pathway are selling out quickly and there are fewer than 50 spaces available. It costs only $250 to dedicate a brick and is a tax-deductible donation. To dedicate your brick today, visit www.friendsoffishcreek.org/brick

Fish Creek Community Showcase – Meet the Artist, Local Photographer Robin Read

Friday, April 5, 2019, 6:30-8:00 pm

Robin Read is a local photographer who enjoys the traditional side of this art form, continuing to explore the Alberta landscape with a film camera and developing his images using traditional darkroom techniques.  He uses the beauty and ruggedness of our rolling prairies as a backdrop for his work. The Fish Creek Community Showcase allows artists, photographers and other members of the community to exhibit their art in the main meeting room of the Cookhouse. The artists receive exposure for their work through our extensive network of members, supporters and volunteers and are able to make sales in this Provincial Park), while the Friends benefit from receiving a percentage of the sales. Drop by from April – June to view the artwork of Robin Read. www.friendsoffishcreek.org
