1The Legislative session has been underway for a couple of months and the following Bills have been introduced as of writing:

  • Bill 1, Energy Diversification
  • Bill 2, Growth and Diversification
  • Bill 5, to Strengthen Financial Security for Persons with Disabilities
  • Bill 6, on cannabis legalization
  • Bill 7, on Alberta’s local food sector and
  • Bill 8, an emergency management act

This session I have had the opportunity to provide input an ask questions more often than previous sessions in the Legislature. Videos can be found on the Alberta Party Caucus YouTube channel or you can read the Hansard on the Alberta Legislature website.

We had a good turnout at the Budget Town Hall I hosted on March 29. There were excellent insights into the 2018-2019 budget which I took to Estimates meetings in Edmonton. I encourage you to email or call the office to provide feedback on any bills or matters within the Legislature. You can follow progress and gain information from my monthly E-Newsletter as well.

As you are likely aware, the Calgary Zoo has some new guests. The Giant Pandas have arrived, and I was very fortunate to attend the preview in April. You don’t need me to tell you how cute they are, but they are cute! Support the Calgary Zoo and visit the new guests beginning this month.

I’m always happy to hear from you so please feel free to get in touch. The office is open from 9am until 4:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (closed for lunch from 12:00pm-1:00pm). We are open until 7 p.m. on Thursdays for those who aren’t able to drop in during the day and you can always email us at [email protected], call us at 403-215-7710, or drop by the office at #106, 8220 Centre Street NE, beside First Calgary Credit Union.
