On the evening of January 26, 2023, 18 of our members joined for our Annual General Meeting by Zoom. We appreciated all who took the time to attend and provide support to our association. Alan Alger kindly chaired the meeting and it was smooth sailing.
Highlights:
The hall was seriously impacted by COVID-19 and we are now starting to get back into full service. Rentals are on the increase and we had some new community events that were very successful (Paint and Sip, Community Garage Sale, Christmas Craft Fair).
We acknowledged the retirement of Greg Davenport, our long-time general manager who provided great service and guidance to us for 19 years. We also welcomed our new general manger, Amanda Gotmy.
We presented our financial report, which because we are increasing our rentals and other events, were improved over our COVID-19 years. If anyone would like a copy of the financials, please contact Amanda Gotmy and she would be happy to send them along. Meanwhile, we said goodbye to Jean Craig who has provided an outstanding service as our treasurer over the past couple of years. We got moved onto Quickbooks, amended our year end to concur with the preschool for a more comprehensive reporting for the future, set up payroll systems – just to name a few things that will make our financial world easier to manage. Jean did an outstanding job and will be missed for sure!
We have seven returning board members and one new member. Welcome to Shirle Tiern. We can always use more on the board, so please let us know if you are interested.
Thanks to the good work of our membership director, Edith Rabinovitch, we currently have 164 members in our community. This is the highest numbers in years. Thanks to all who renewed!
We have lots of new ideas for community events, dances, social get togethers, and sporting events, so please support us and get out and join with your community for some fun times.
