Rotary Park’s Mini-Galleries Under Maintenance in February; Puppet Exhibit Opens in March
by Brenda Erskine
We hope you enjoyed an extra month of the Mexican Women Artists’ stunning Xantolo exhibit in January. In February, the mini galleries will undergo some much-needed maintenance, with much thanks to Nadine Myers, our handy volunteer, for doing this work.
In March and April, the minis host a new exhibit by the Festival of Animated Objects (FAO) in coordination with their annual festival in March. “Animating Imagination: A Stop Motion Puppetry Showcase” will be curated by Tia DeLauria and Claudia Chagoya. The art walk/opening is scheduled for Saturday, March 9 at 1:00 pm. There will also be a puppetry and animation workshop at Sparrow ArtSpace, open to the community. CHCA’s Mini Galleries thank CADA and the City of Calgary for funding the FAO exhibit and workshop.
