I hope that everybody is doing well and staying safe. I think it is safe to say that all our lives have changed tremendously since mid-March due to COVID.
We were closed for approximately 4 months, had a soft opening around mid-July, and are now fully open again. Our arena is operating, and it is nice to have the figure skating, hockey, and ringette back and filling our building.
We have developed in-depth COVID policies and procedures to keep all our users safe when visiting our facilities. We have hired a COVID specialist, and she is working hard to keep each area of the Community Association sanitized and COVID-free. Masks and social distancing are mandatory while in the building.
Our programs and events are starting to open, and we are planning on offering more over the next year than we previously have. Fitness classes will be enhanced and start the week of October 20th.
We have hired a Marketing and Community Development Manager (Shannon Jakel – [email protected]), and she would be happy to get feedback from the community about what you would like to see at HHCA. Our goal is to engage the Huntington Hills residents and be the heart of the community.
Our out of care is running now at full capacity. If you are still looking for a healthy and safe place to enroll your children, our staff would be happy to give you more information.
If you are looking for an inexpensive and exciting sport to join, we have numerous leagues to join. Please look at our website for more information.
We kindly ask people not to drop off donations to our facility as we are not a drop off point. This has been a big problem for us as we must hire somebody to clean it up and take it to the dump. There are donation bins at CO-OP and Safeway that would be happy to take them.
We are searching for volunteers to assist us for upcoming programs and events. If you would like to be part of the Huntington Helpers, please contact Shannon. Volunteers are the backbone of any community association.
We are hiring for concession workers for this upcoming winter season. If there is anybody that would like to take on a part time job, please send us your resume.
Happy Thanksgiving to everybody! I hope you enjoy your turkey and family time.
