Nolan Hill and Sage Hill’s President’s Message for August

In July we participated in RomMor’s “Stampede Food and Fun Fair” at the Quarter and saw a few hundred guests attend to support our local business and kick off Stampede. Also, I should mention a few new businesses opened in the Quarter such as 30 Minute Hit, Leopolds Tavern, and Iccyburg and wanted to wish them all early success in their operations.

Blizzards Soccer has just wound up and numbers were a bit lower than projected, although participant feedback was the most positive we’ve ever seen. Sage Hill hosted about 70 players from our community, Evanston, Nolan Hill, Hidden Valley, Citadel, Rocky Ridge, and even Airdrie. I believe COVID was to blame (and rain) but feel next season we will well exceed the 100 player mark and continue to grow from there.

The Community Association is not meeting in August; however, we are hosting our first event in over 18 months, thanks to COVID, at the Sage Hill Plaza on August 7 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. As of today, we’re not sure if RonMor, the plaza owner, is allowing us to set up beside the Sage Hill Bottle Depot or if they want us use the London Drugs parking lot, but it will be one of the two. Expect to see local businesses on site with promotions, YYC Food Trucks, music, and a kid’s bouncy castle. I hope we will see you on August 7.

Our next board meetings are from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on:

Tuesday September 14

Tuesday October 12

*Location to be announced but will be returning to in person*

Thank you,

Ross Utigard

President
