Tuxedo Park President’s Message – June 2023

Ah, summertime in Tuxedo Park! There’s nothing quite like it! As we enjoy our soon-to-be-opened new playground and the beautiful new green space of the dry pond, we can be thankful to live in such an active and vibrant community. I love seeing the gardens of Tuxedo bloom as our green-thumbed neighbours tend to their yards. It’s wonderful!

This month, the TPCA will host our largest fundraising event at the Elbow River Casino on June 8 and 9. There are still volunteer shifts available, so don’t miss your chance to help out! All volunteers will receive a Cineplex Movie Night Out for Two voucher per shift worked, courtesy of the TPCA. I can’t stress enough how important casino funding is for our community. Without it, we would not be able to run our hall or programs.

I am saddened to report that our current communication chair and editor of the TP Gazette will be stepping down this summer. Meredith Petrie, thank you for all you’ve done for Tuxedo! Meredith has kept our community connected throughout the pandemic and envisioned and executed so many unique projects. Our social media manager, Andrew Kidd, will also be leaving us this month after years of posting. Thank you, Andrew, for your service to the community!

So, of course, we’re looking for keen communicators to fill both of those roles. If you’re interested in helping your community and building your resume, please contact me for more information at [email protected].

Stay cool, Tuxedo, and enjoy this beautiful start to the summer!

Anne Johnson
