Hello fellow Acadians!

We’ve made it through the first quarter of the year and spring is already here if you can believe it! Your Acadia Community Association continues to have lots of exciting new developments and plans to share with you.

The ACA is Rebranding!

Last year, we presented a new logo for our membership to vote on at the annual general meeting. The one key element we missed in the process of developing the new logo was engaging you, our valued membership and community, in the exploration of what a brand that represents you would look like.

The current ACA board has decided that the right thing to do would be to start again and this time, ensure that we fully engage our community in the design process.

We launched a survey on March 4 inviting Acadians to share their thoughts and feedback on what they would like to see for the ACA brand. If you haven’t yet had a chance to complete the survey, it is still open until April 5 and can be accessed at www.acadia.community/rebrand.

As a token of our appreciation for your time and opinions, we will randomly select five participants who completed the survey to win one free ACA annual membership and a $25 gift card to a local Acadia business.

Your opinion matters to us and we greatly appreciate your time and effort in completing our survey. By participating in our rebranding campaign, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the ACA brand and make sure it reflects you as an individual and an integral part of the community.

Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday, April 8

On Saturday, April 8, we are hosting our very first Easter Egg Hunt event at Addison Place Playground! Bring your own basket and we will have supplies for kids to decorate their baskets if they wish. We will also have colouring pages, some light crafts, and the ever-popular glitter tattoos. We strongly encourage pedestrian traffic to the playground if you are able to do so, as we expect this event to be quite popular and busy!

ACA member children can participate in the egg hunt for free. Non-member children can join in on the hunt for $5 per child. Pre-registration is required for this event as we need to know how many children to plan for, ensuring that we have enough eggs hidden for them to find. You can register by following the link at www.acadia.community/eventsinput.

Make sure you get your ACA membership at www.acadia.community/membership and take advantage of all the events we have planned for the remainder of the year!

March Social Night

Thanks to all our neighbours for coming out to join us at the second Social Night event of the year! We really appreciate you taking the time to come meet us and chat about what you would like to see for the community of Acadia. At March’s event, folks could try the ARC house beer and submit their name ideas for it. Check out our social media for the announcement of the house beer’s new name! Our next Social Night event will be on Wednesday, May 10 and we hope to see more folks join us.

We Need Your Help!

We’re always looking for people to join our team! There are so many opportunities to get involved with your community. Check out the summary of available volunteer roles on page 10. If you are available to help with any of the available opportunities, please email us at [email protected].

Welcome to Our New Treasurer

We are so pleased to announce that Adam Klimczak will be joining us as the ACA’s newest board member and treasurer! Adam is a CPA and has lived in Acadia with his young family for three years. Visit www.acadia.community/the-board for more details about Adam!

Thank You, Tina James

The ACA would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Tina, who has been our amazing and committed Hello Acadia newsletter coordinator for the past few years. We will miss her dearly, and we know that those who’ve worked with her to submit their articles monthly will miss her too!

With Tina’s departure, we are on the lookout for a newsletter coordinator. Check out the role details on page 8. Newsletter submissions can continue to be sent to [email protected].
