Auburn Bay Notes for November

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to enjoy some meaningful time with your family and friends.

The Community Association is excited to announce the return of the Parade of Lights to be held on November 27, 2021, starting at 5:00 pm from Auburn House.  Please see the CA website or Facebook Events for the links to register to be part of this amazing event.

The growing season has come to an end at the Community Garden, we are now busy trying to upgrade our smaller 3×3 plots that we will be moving to our permanent site once the LOC is secured.  We are applying for a number of grants that will enable us to upgrade both the size and quality of the plots we currently have, as well as add some fun things to the garden to make it even more of a community gathering place.

The Community Garden Committee held a fall flower fundraiser in September, where we sold gorgeous potted mums and other plants. We are pleased to announce that we are continuing the theme of bringing you fresh, high-quality flowers and plants by hosting a Christmas fundraiser with poinsettias, fresh wreaths, and other seasonal plants. Beginning November 1, you can visit auburnbay.growingsmilesfundraising.com to order yours and help to support our garden. The order deadline is November 20, and deliveries will take place December 4 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Do you want to get involved in the community? Given that so many of the wonderful events and activities we enjoy rely completely on volunteers (Parade of Lights, Stampede Breakfast, Community Clean-Up, Family Games Day, Community Garden, Park n’ Play), we need more people to step forward and volunteer to help the Community Association so that we can continue to have these privileges. We would also like to know the best way to communicate with you about such events and volunteer opportunities? Please take the time to fill out our form at https://forms.gle/tfRYbtK4x6i6dYap7 so that we can get a better understanding of how to best reach you and encourage your participation.

Did you know that Auburn Bay has a large number of Facebook groups? There is a Pet Group, Seniors Group, Grillers Group, Ladies Group, Food Lovers Group, Gardening Group, Community Garden Group, Ladies Clothing Exchange Group… the list is nearly endless. Make sure to go and check these fabulous interest groups out.

Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the last of the beautiful fall weather!
