Graffiti and Vandalism
There has been a noticeable increase in graffiti and vandalism around the Community Center this spring. Tags, vulgar words, and graphics have been painted on the Center’s storage containers, walls, and at the city skatepark. The Community Center’s outdoor daycare area and the community fence art installation continue to be targets of vandalism. Deer Run is not the only community experiencing this.
Graffiti and vandalism are crimes. We are asking everyone to help us prevent this damage to the community. Most vandals start by practicing on paper at home or school. If you suspect someone you know is a graffiti artist, please email the graffiti coordinator at [email protected] or call them at 403-428-8324.
If you are a victim of graffiti, clean it up and a file a complaint. If you witness graffiti in progress, call 911. If the graffiti is not in progress, please report it online or call 311. More information can be found on the Calgary Police Service website.
