Vice President’s Message
Hello Fairview,
As the winter season starts to come to a close, we want to recognize the heart of our outdoor rink: Jason, our Rink Master, and the dedicated crew of volunteers. Because of your hard work flooding and maintaining the ice, neighbors had a place to connect all winter long. We’re so proud of what this community built together—we’re already looking forward to next year!
Spring is Just Around the Corner
The ice might be melting, but our community calendar is just heating up! Spring planning is in full swing, and we have some exciting opportunities for everyone to get involved:
• Spring Community Cleanup / Spring Fling
• Community Bottle Drive / Fundraising Days
• Annual General Meeting (AGM) & Board Information Night
• Early planning for summer events and programming
More details will be shared in the coming weeks.
An Urgent Call for Help
We need to be honest with our community: the Fairview Community Association Board is struggling to keep up with the workload required to sustain our programs and events. Currently, a very small group of volunteers is carrying a heavy and increasingly unsustainable load.
We are in dire need of help, both big and small. You choose how much time you want to contribute—from a single hour at an event to an ongoing role. Every level of involvement matters.
While some positions require a larger time commitment, many roles take very little time at all. As our neighborhood evolves and more homes transition into rental properties, we have seen a noticeable decline in our volunteer base. To keep our programs running, we need to reverse this trend.
Positions We Need Help With
No prior experience is required! Support, templates, and mentoring are available for all roles:
Communications / Social Media: Share updates and promote events.
Board Members (General): Help guide decisions and support community initiatives.
Event Volunteers / Event Leads: Assist with or lead individual events.
Fundraising and Sponsorship Support: Help secure donations and sponsorships.
Volunteer Coordination: Help organize and support our volunteer team.
Every Contribution Counts
You don’t need special skills or a massive commitment, just a willingness to help in a way that works for you. If you’ve ever considered getting involved, now is the time.
Fairview is worth the effort, and it truly takes all of us to keep our community strong.
Thank you for your continued support.
