Hello Fairview!
2024 is about over and the holidays are coming fast.
In November, we set up the boards for the Flavelle Adopt-a-Rink and want to thank all the volunteers who helped. Weather permitting, we hope to have the rinks flooded in time for the holidays. The art of flooding requires the right conditions for quality, lasting ice, so we appreciate your patience. Look for signage to know when the rink is safe to skate. You can also join the “Flavelle Rink Crew” Facebook group for updates and ways to get involved.
Our Bowling with Santa event is happening on December 8 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. It’s great family fun and hope to see you there. Thank you to our friends at Toppler Bowling for having us again.
In January, after the holiday madness, the Community Association will be gearing up for our annual spring clean-up events. Kicking off with our Parade of Garage Sales, then Spring Fling, the Bottle Drive, and more.
If you’d like to help plan, attend, or promote any of these events—or if you simply want to stay informed— we invite you to join us at our monthly meeting. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm. Our meetings are open to everyone and include our volunteer Board, as well as occasional guest speakers such as local police officers discussing crime and traffic in the area, and updates from our local and provincial representatives on issues that impact us all.
If any of this sounds interesting or exciting, I encourage you to reach out to someone on our Association Board for more information. There’s absolutely no obligation to join the board or take on a leadership role. We’re simply eager to hear your thoughts, ideas, and feedback on community matters.
Currently, our board consists of 8 dedicated members who represent the community— they’re incredible, but we need your voice, too. We want to hear your perspective on topics like the future of the old arena space, ways we can improve our events each year, the Midtown project, and other developments that will shape the future of our community. Your input is invaluable to us!
So, don’t be shy, we look forward to seeing you!
Vice-President
