As we head into the winter season, I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who continues to support and participate in our community events. It’s that involvement that keeps Fairview such a great place to live, and we’re looking forward to seeing many of you at our next big celebration — Bowling with Santa at Toppler Bowl on Sunday, December 14! This has always been one of our most popular family events, and we’re excited to bring it back for another year of holiday fun.
Over at Flavelle Park, Stage 1 of our Adopt-A-Rink project is now complete. The boards are up and ready for the next phase — but we’ll need plenty of helping hands for Stage 2, when we install the tarp and prepare the ice in December. If you can spare even an hour or two, we’d love your help to get the rink ready for everyone to enjoy this winter.
On a more serious note, our Association is still in dire need of volunteers. Despite the great turnout at some of our events, we’re facing ongoing challenges with staffing committees and running programs. Unfortunately, we’ve already had to scale back several events for seniors and families, and without more community involvement, we’ll be forced to make additional cuts in 2026.
We understand that everyone is busy — and that’s okay. Even a small commitment can make a big difference. Whether it’s helping at one event, joining a sub-committee, or lending your expertise behind the scenes, there’s a way for everyone to contribute. If you’re willing to help, please reach out — we’d be happy to go over how you can get involved in a way that fits your schedule.
