Dear Fairview Neighbours,
What an incredible milestone for our community! This year we celebrated Fairview’s 65th anniversary with our biggest Movie in the Park yet. For the first time in the 19 years of running this event, we hosted a double feature—and the turnout was nothing short of amazing. Thank you!
Looking ahead, we have a busy fall and winter lineup:
• Adopt-a-Rink Build – Our annual ice rink board setup is happening early to mid-November. The rink will be flooded in December or whenever it gets cold enough. Please keep an eye on our social media for dates and opportunities to lend a hand.
• Bowling with Santa – Mark your calendars for December 14 at Toppler Bowl in Astral Plaza. This is always a family favourite event, and we can’t wait to see you there!
• Light Up Fairview – Our annual neighbourhood festive light display competition will Light Up Fairview in December.
New Board Member
We’re also excited to welcome our newest board member, Garrett Mazurenko, who brings a wealth of skills to our team. We are thrilled to have him join us and look forward to the fresh ideas and leadership he will bring.
Volunteers Make it all Possible
That said, I must stress the importance of volunteer involvement in our community. Even with Garrett’s addition, we remain in dire need of more helping hands. To make volunteering more flexible, we are working on introducing an “Associate Member” role on the board—lighter duties, but still a chance to make a meaningful impact. Without more support, however, we will be forced to scale back and may have to remove some of our traditional events beginning in 2026.
Our community has always thrived because of its people—your time, energy, and spirit make Fairview the special place it is. Please consider stepping forward, even in a small way, to help us keep these traditions alive.
