Welcome, November! Mid-Sun Social Seniors’ are prepared for the coming of winter. Whatever the weather brings, we are able to gather every Thursday with a hot beverage and snack in a warm and welcoming environment. Our group mixes chat, laughter, and lively card and games sessions. We currently play old favourites like Canasta, Euchre, Five Crowns, and many others. We also purchased a Mahjong game and are looking forward to someone joining the group who can teach us how to play. New members are welcomed, as we all enjoy participating in familiar games and learning new ones. Other activities like potlucks, Bingo, informational speaker sessions, wiener roasts, picnics at the lake, and more are planned and hosted during each year. A MSCA membership is required to join activities. You are invited to come, meet us, and experience an activity event before you purchase a membership.

Throughout the year, Mid-Sun Seniors’ support citizens in Calgary with food bank donations. For the month of September our contributions were received by the Veteran’s Food Bank, a total of 40 items weighing 58 pounds as well as a generous cash donation. Our September contribution to AARCS (Animal Rescue) was 37 pet food, care, and toy items. Thank you, seniors.
