Flag System
Lake Sundance uses a flag warning system to communicate the open and closed status of the lake and lake ice. Flag status can be observed by the boat docks and the fishing area.
The flags are not a sole indication of safety conditions or information. This system complements official information provided on-site and through the Association’s official communication channels, including our website and social media.
The Sundance Lake Residents Association closely monitors the lake and lake ice conditions for public use. Regardless of the Flag Warning System and the presence of the green or yellow flag, access to and use of lake and lake ice are done at the sole risk of the members or their guests. When the red flag is flying, access to and use of the lake and lake ice are not permitted, and anyone who enters the lake or lake ice without authorization is trespassing.
• Green Flag – Open to all users
• Yellow Flag – Hazard present (e.g. cold-water temperature, or a zone is closed on the lake ice)
• Red Flag – Closed to all users (e.g. danger thin ice, or chemical treatment)
