Fall into Fun and Fitness with NBRA Programs!

It’s back to school, back to work and back to routine time, and the Clubhouse is here to help! Registration is now open for a variety of new and exciting classes with new instructors designed to help you and your little ones get the most out of the coming months and ready for winter.

All classes run Monday – Thursday in the Clubhouse.

Children’s programs run Monday to Thursday and feature a multitude of options to ensure your child can try a new activity, participate in their favorite class or just get them moving!!

Mondays: Hip Hop (4-6yrs – 6:15-7pm), ZooMoovz (3-4yrs – 6-6:45pm & 5-7yrs – 6:45-7:30pm) and Tennis (4-15yrs – 4-7pm)

Tuesdays: Drawing with Young Rembrandts (6-12yrs – 6:15-7:15pm), Cartooning (8-14yrs – 7:30-8:30pm) and Football (3-10yrs – 5-7pm)

Wednesdays: Ball Hockey (5-15yrs – 5-8pm)

Thursday: MultiSportball (3-5yrs – 10-11am), and Soccer (3-10yrs – 4:30-6:30pm)

 

Try something with your little one with our parented programs!

Mondays: Zumbini (0-4yrs – 9:30-10:15am)

Tuesdays: ZooMoozs (1-3yrs – 9:30-10:30am)

Thursday: Multi-Sportsball (2-3yrs – 9:15-10am), and Tunes for Twos (2-3yrs – 10:15-11am)

 

Increase your strength, tone, stimulate the body with effective cardio methods, and increase you energy levels and so much more with our adult programs!!

Mondays: Tai Chi (16+ – 8-9pm)

Tuesdays: Zumba (14+ – 7:30-8:30pm)

Wednesdays: Prenatal Education (7:30-9pm)

Thursday: Chair Yoga (16+ – 9:30-10:15am), Kickboxing (16+ – 7:30-8:30pm) and Pound (16+ – 8-8:45pm)

 

Get fit while spending time with the family!

Wednesdays: Family Karate (6+ – 6:15-7:15pm)

Thursday: Family Bootcamp (6+ – 6:15-7:15pm), and Family Yoga (6+ – 6:15-7:15pm)

ZooMoovze (3-4 & 5-7yrs) – Mondays @ 6-6:45pm & 6:45-7:30pm

ZooMoovz (1-3yrs) – Tuesdays @ 9:30-10:15am

The talented cast from ZooStreet open imaginations, encourage movement and teach rhythm, through the Zebra Zumba, Monkey Mambo, Penguin Polka, Flamingo a Go Go, Tiger Tango, Rhinosaurus Ballet, and more.

 

Kickboxing (16+) – Thursdays @ 7:30-8:30pm

This co-ed class is an electric 60-minute fusion class, comprised of martial arts and boxing movements. This combo kicks your cardio fitness to the next level, while defining and shaping both your physique and your self-confidence. All fitness levels and are welcome! No experience is necessary. Pads and gloves are provided

It’s so easy to register, simply call 403-781-6613, click on our website (listed above) or visit one of our friendly staff members at 2 New Brighton Drive. Programs which do not meet the minimum numbers of registrants will be canceled, so what are you waiting for?

 

Programs are available for New Brighton residents, and non-residents with a discount offered for Brookfield community residents.

 

Residents asked, we listened! Starting in the fall many children’s and adult programs will be running at the same time so parents can take advantage of our fantastic adult program while their kids participate in an exciting class of their own!

 

Fall Fun in the NBRA Park

It’s Fall again! This means change in the weather, falling of leaves and getting back into your routine, including fun with the New Brighton Park enjoying these last few days of summer!

Gather up your family and friends to enjoy the exhilarating splash park (open until mid-September weather dependant), tennis courts, volleyball court, basketball hoops, ball hockey rink, playground and sandbox!

Each household can bring up to 5 guests per visit! If you are bringing guests, please be sure to sign your guests in with the main office upon arrival. If you wish to bring more than 5 guests, that is not a problem; however, you will be required to complete a “Park Guest List.” The “Park Guest List” can be found on our website: www.newbrighton-connect.com or you can pick one up from the office. The NBRA requires all completed forms to be received in the office at least 1 week before your event date for the General Manager approval. Once approved, a “Park Guest List” permits residents to bring between 6-20 people into the park. Each home is permitted to submit up to 3 “Park Guest Lists” per year, so celebrate the change in seasons with us and get the most out of spring!

Stop in the main office to check out all of the amazing available products! Coffee Mugs – $10, Yoga Mats – $20, Lanyards – $5 and of course the yummy canteen treats are all $1.

Summer Success

August was such an amazing month and the perfect way to end the summer!

Thank you to our fantastic residents who joined us for our:

Annual NBRA Beer Gardens on August 18th, we enjoyed dancing the night away and laughs that were shared.

Mexican Fiesta DJ Splash Party on August 19th, was a great day to get out in the sun and splash around as Send it Entertainment spun some amazing songs.

Tailgate Party on August 25th, it was so much fun cheering on the Stampeders with you all!

Comedy in the Clubhouse

Saturday, September 22nd @ 7-10pm

It is date night, girls’ night, boys’ night or just a fun night out at the Clubhouse. On Friday September 21st from 7pm to 10pm the NBRA will be hosting their first comedy in the Clubhouse night!

Join a local comedian’s Daniel Lee, Jeremy Furlong and Matt Foster as they take the stage for an evening that is sure to have you laughing so hard your sides hurt. Drinks and appies will be on site to make it the perfect night out!

Tickets will be sold for $5 each, this includes entrance to the show, the first drink and appies. Additional drinks will be sold for $5 each. All participants must be 18+ and ID will be required.

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

Creating a Blog (11-17yrs)

Saturday September 15th @ 10am-4pm; Res: $50 Brookfield: $60 Non-Res: $65

Learn how to create compelling blog posts for your friends, family and the public to follow. Students will be walked through the setup, development and content management steps in this amazing workshop.

 

Babysitting Course (10-17yrs)

Saturday September 29th @ 10am-3pm; Res: $60 Brookfield: $70 Non-Res: $75

Content of course includes; Rights and Responsibilities, of the child, parent & sitter, Child Safety & Basic First Aid, Handling Emergencies 911, Fire Safety, Rescue Breathing, First Aid for the Choking Victim, Caring for the Child and Nutrition and more.

At the end of the day a short final test is given. All passing students must achieve a 75% mark in order to receive certification.

 

CLUBHOUSE “VALUE ADD” ACTIVITIES

Storytime

Every 2nd Monday from 10:30-11am: September 10th & 24th

Spend the morning with the Calgary Public Library listening to stories and singing songs that the whole family can enjoy! Great for ages 0-5 years!! The book truck will also be on site during these mornings from 10am – 12pm for borrowing new and exciting books!

 

Mommy & Me Meet Up

Every Wednesday from 9:30-11am, $2 drop in or $55 for the year

Bring your little ones and join a fun morning of socialization and unstructured free play all while parents enjoy coffee, snacks and Great Company! The “Deep South Collation” programs will be on site for the 4th Wednesday of each month, giving focus to sensory movement and development of all attendees!

 

New Brighton’s Seniors Club

Every Thursday from 10:30am- 12:00pm

The NBRA is excited to host the New Brighton Seniors Club, offering a variety of different activities including cards, crafts, games, great conversation and so much more. Spend your time enjoying new activities, meeting new friends, and exploring everything that the NBRA has to offer.

 

Under 18 Club (12-16yrs)

September 7th, 7pm-9pm Minute to Win It ($2 drop-in, includes snacks)

Challenge yourself and your friends with a series of minute to win it games. Test your skills while battling for the title of champ! Doors open at 7pm so grab your friends and meet at the Clubhouse.

 

October 13th, 7pm-10pm Monster Mash Dance ($2 drop in, includes snacks)

Let’s do the mash; Let’s do the monster mash; The monster mash; It will be a graveyard smash.

Grab your costumes and your friends and let’s do the mash, the monster mash!

Tweens and teens ages 12-16 are invited for a spooky evening of dancing and tricks and treats. Entry is free for members (member cards will be required) and $2 for guests so grab your friends and join in for a hauntingly good time. Doors open at 7pm: come for the great music and stay for the prizes!

 

Canvas Creations (18+)

Friday September 14th @ 7pm-9:30pm Res: $30 Brookfield $35 Non-Res: $40

Come for a relaxing evening of creativity! Learn the technique behind different painting styles and get in touch with your inner artist while visiting with friends! Create your masterpiece from start to finish and take it home to show off your new skills. Drinks will be available for the duration of the workshop, with the 1st drink included with the program cost, additional drinks will be sold at a cost of $5 each.

 

Something to Wine About (18+) Canada!

Friday, September 21st @ 7-9pm – Res: $20, Brookfield Res: $25 and Non Res: $30

The experts from Seton Highlander Wine & Spirits will be on site to educate participants on wines from our beautiful country! Experience 6 different Canadian wines (3 red, 3 white), while enjoying some palate cleansing snacks. Participants will discover the history of the vineyards used, the hues in the wine, and price points of each bottle. Fee includes samples of 6 different wines. Should you find a new favourite, orders for bottles can be made during the workshop to be picked up at Highlander at a later time.

 

Movie in the Clubhouse

Friday September 28th, 7pm -9pm Teen Titans Go to the Movies

$5 per family (2 adults & 3 kids)

It’s an exciting evening of family fun! The New Brighton Clubhouse offers a cozy space for the kids to get comfortable with plenty of seating for parents to sit back and relax.

 

RENTAL PARTY PACKAGES

The NBRA is happy to announce our new rental packages! There are a variety of rental packages to fit all ages, party sizes and budget!

 

Essential Birthday Package – Res: $100 / Non-Res: $120

Celebrate your next two hour Birthday party in the comfort of the NBRA’s mid-sized Studio Room (capacity of 35). The Essential Birthday Package provides you with set-up and teardown of your party, as well as party decorations and supplies (banner, cups, tablecloths, balloons, napkins, plates and cutlery). Make your next birthday party special, the NBRA will do the decorating!!

 

Platinum Birthday Package – Res: $150 / Non-Res: $170

Let the NBRA take the stress out of planning your next Birthday Party with this all-inclusive package! The Platinum Package provides a party host to facilitate one game and one craft for your guests. The NBRA staff will set-up and teardown your party, while designing the room with the included party supplies (banner, cups, tablecloths, balloons, napkins, plates and cutlery). This package give the renter two hours in the mid-sized Studio Room (capacity of 35). All you have to do is bring your own cake, drinks and snacks and we do the rest!

 

Paint Party Package – Res: $200 / Non-Res: $230

Need a new idea for your creative family or friends? The Paint Party Package is available for all ages and is perfect for any celebration. The NBRA provides a skilled instructor, pre-set painting and the supplies (paint, easels, paintbrushes, aprons, watering cups and napkins) to make your next party an effortless success. This package allows 10 people to paint however, if you wish include more participants it is $10 additional per person. This package can accommodate up to 20 people total with all the set-up and teardown done for you.

Wedding Package – Res: $900 / Non-Res: $1100

Make the greatest day of your life as simple as possible with the NBRA’s help! The Wedding Package provides you with a full day rental in our spacious Banquet Hall (capacity of 110) and the Board Room for an intimate setting for the bridal party to get ready. Celebrate until late and dance the night away without worry, the NBRA takes care of the security, music license and after hours clean-up for your special night. Capture your memories with the one hour outside photo opportunity, receive a small gift for the bride & groom and enjoy a wonderful night with friends and family. Say I do to the NBRA’s Wedding Package!
