Street Market/Parade of Garage Sales

May 8, 2021

9:00 am to 2:00 pm

Kick-off Mother’s Day weekend with an outdoor market and garage sales! With over 45 garage sales throughout the community, 30 vendors at the New Brighton Clubhouse, and food trucks this event has something for everyone!

The Street Market application will be available on February 19!

Want to have a hassle-free garage sale but don’t want to do the advertising? You can register your address today for only $10 and the NBRA does all the work for you!

Sponsorship Opportunities

The new 2021 Sponsorship Catalogue is now available! Becoming a sponsor is a great way of getting your business noticed throughout the community of New Brighton. There are a variety of sponsorship opportunities available to meet the needs of all businesses! Children and Adult Programs

The NBRA has implemented additional precautions for the programs offered at the Clubhouse in order to create a safe, worry free environment for all.

Some of the precautions include:

– Class sizes are limited to 10 to 12 participants

– Extra sanitization protocols have been implemented to ensure that touchpoints are cleaned on a regular basis and in between each program

– Physical distancing will be enforced by the instructors

– Virtual attendance options, where possible

Drawing with Young Rembrandts

(6 to 12 years)

Tuesdays, April 13 to May 11

6:15 to 7:15 pm

Resident: $70 | Non-Resident: $85

The Young Rembrandts drawing curriculum is designed to teach basic to advanced drawing skills, art techniques, and vocabulary. It is believed that drawing is the bedrock skill required for future artistic success. Young Rembrandts gives students skills to express their creativity and believe that all children can and should learn to draw. Participants will see improved artistic abilities, the skills to learn and gain confidence.

Energy Cardio and Functional Fitness

(Ages 16+)

Tuesdays, April 13 to May 11

7:30 to 8:30 pm

Resident: $45 | Non-Resident: $60

Looking for a fun, low-impact cardio conditioning and functional living class that is easy to follow? This class will leave you fizzing with energy and ready to take on your day! Perfect for both beginners and experienced fitness members, Energy Cardio and Functional Fitness exercises are performed standing with emphasis on heart health and increasing or maintaining important bone density. Being ‘Brain Gym’ focused (the best anti-aging medicine!) this class is 50% cardio and 50% functional fitness (2lb hand weights optional). The average Canadian takes 2,000 steps per day, Energy Cardio and Functional Fitness will enable participants to reach over 4,000 steps in one hour! Try it! You’ll love it.

Dance Explosion

(4 to 6 years)

Thursdays, April 15 to May 13

6:15 to 7:00 pm

Residents: $70 | Non-Residents: $85

An explosion of dance styles! We will look at jazz, tap, ballet, creative movement, hip hop, and more! A great introduction to the world of dance!

Dance Fitness

(Ages 16+)

Thursdays, April 15 to May 13

7:30 to 8:30 pm

Residents: $80 | Non-Residents: $95

Have fun moving and grooving to upbeat Latin and Pop Music! Classes will incorporate basic dance steps and allow space for self-expression, improvisation, and flexibility. Each class will end with a mindfulness exercise to support connection to breath. No previous dance experience required! Dancers are encouraged to wear comfortable athletic wear they can easily move in.

Workshops

Canvas Creations – March 12 at 7:00 pm

Residents: $30 | Non-Residents: $45

Come for a relaxing evening of creativity! Learn the technique behind different painting styles and get in touch with your inner artist while visiting with friends! Create your masterpiece from start to finish and take it home to show off your new skills. Drinks will be available for the duration of the workshop.

Note: First drink is included with program cost, additional drinks will be sold at a cost of $5 each at the cash bar

Babysitters Course – March 13 at 10:00 am

Residents: $60 | Non-Residents: $75

Content of course includes: Rights and Responsibilities, of the child, parent, and sitter, Child Safety and Basic First Aid, Handling Emergencies 911, Fire Safety, Rescue Breathing, First Aid for the Choking Victim, Caring for the Child, Nutrition and more. At the end of the day a short final test is given. All passing students must achieve a 75% mark in order to graduate.
