Have you taken a moment to look outside this summer? And I mean really look outside – pay attention to the way the clouds move, the way the wind blows, and the colours in the sky? If you find yourself in New Brighton, you’ll be treated to some of the most breathtaking skies imaginable. As the sun fades into the night, the sky is painted with hues of orange and dark blue, creating a magical, almost surreal atmosphere. Nightly walks along the bell tower pond are an amazing experience, as every night is different, with the rippled pond reflecting the sky’s early colours.

As the night progresses, the skies remain orange and blue, offering a perfect backdrop for the bell tower and any photo subjects. After sunset, the real spectacle begins. Nightfall in New Brighton is a mesmerizing display, with the sky transforming into a canvas of reds, purples, and golds but not to the naked eye. If you are passionate about night photography, prepare yourself, the views are like nothing else. On rare occasions, you might catch a glimpse of the northern lights right from the bell tower, or even from your backyard.

On clear nights, the beauty doesn’t fade. The night sky, free from city light pollution, reveals a stunning array of stars. The Big and Little Dippers often make an appearance, adding to the charm of our night skies. Whether it’s dawn, dusk, or night, the skies of New Brighton never fail to captivate and inspire those who witness their beauty.
