Queensland-Diamond Cove’s September Message from the President

Presidents Message Queensland Diamond Cove

Hello Again

School is starting, our weather is beginning to change, and it is that time of year to have another season. It really is a shame that our summers are so short. Oh well, that is the beauty of living in Canada where we can benefit from all of nature’s beauty.

Our Queensland Diamond Cove board members are still working and planning for the fall and winter programs. We do have some changes though.

They are:

  • After School Program; Tuesday And Thursday 3:15 To 5:15 P.M.

Grades 4, 5 And 6 Only

Start Up Date September 18

Free

  • Pickle Ball/Badminton; Monday Evenings 8:00 P.M. To 10:00 P.M.

$5.00 Charge

Pickle Ball; Wednesday afternoons 12:00 P.M. To 2:30 P.M.

Charge $2.00 with Community Membership

$3.00 Non-Community Membership

  • Yoga: Start Up Date: September 11

Time: 10:00 A.M. To 11:00 A.M.

  • Drop-In Coffee Time: September 12, 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.

This will be in the board room for anyone who is out walking, dropping their kids off at school or just would like to have coffee with us at the community center. We can have this as a monthly event so new residents can meet other residents in the area and our friendships will grow stronger. It will depend on the attendance for its continuation.

  • Kid’s Craft Club: September 29 9:00 M. To 2:00 P.M.

Registration and Kid’s Scrapbooking

Grade 3 and up

Our Social Director, Rachael, has planned another fun pub night for all Queensland Diamond Cove residents. This will be held September 13, at the Winkin Owl. For more information please read the notice further in the Crier. It is going to be a great evening.

Have you noticed that the parks department is repairing the tennis courts? It definitely is in dire need of repair. So far, the majority of the deep and long surface cracks in all of the courts have been filled in. It has not been completely resurfaced but hopefully, it will get done in 2019. At least it is safe for playing tennis and pickleball on.

Well, there are many other items of interest that I could write about, but I ask that you keep an eye open for any signs at the community center or other street signs, advertising more information for other awesome community events.

Also remember that we always need more volunteers. Our Sports Director will be looking for volunteers to help with the hockey rink preparations etc. We definitely need you! Please help us out. You do not need any experience. We all work as a team and without volunteers, we cannot have programs or any skating events. This is a wonderful time to get your teens interested in helping. They are our future! Please contact the community center at 403 278-3366 so we can get your name on the list.

Until next time

Judith
