Board Secretary

After a year on the RCA Board, our Secretary, has decided to return to the workforce. If you have administrative expertise and experience, this Executive Team role is an opportunity to use your skills and be a part of key decision-making for our organization.

Communications Coordinator

Do you have excellent attention to detail? We need someone to support the development of our monthly newsletter, the Riverbend Review, as our current volunteer is stepping aside to make space for other obligations. This newsletter is designed and published by Great News Media, with content collected from a variety of community members and community partners. This position can be worked in your own home and in your own hours within monthly publishing deadlines and has support from the Communications Team.

  1. Programs starting in January 2020

Winter programs will be starting in early January. There will be two sessions of the very popular new program- Tai Chi available: on Monday evenings and Tuesday mornings.

  1. Annual General Meeting – Recap

Thank you everyone for attending our Annual General Meeting that was held on November 19! Thank you to Infolaser.com for printing materials for this meeting.

Our annual Riverbend Fall Fair was a great success, with almost 600 shoppers attending! We had a great variety of local vendors participating this year with great selection of handcrafted items available. Thank you to Tammie Best for coordinating event planning, 77th East Glenmore Scouts for supporting setup and tear down, and Riverbend School Council for running the concession at the event.

Thank you to Riverbend Girl Guides for organizing the Kids Christmas Party event and Ward 12 for their sponsorship!

Thank you to Heather Kolesar for am amazing 1-year term as Secretary of the RCA Board and Executive Team. Heather has been a valuable member of the team, offering a candid and refreshing perspective, as well as being someone you can count on to get the job done. Heather will be staying on as a volunteer with RCA as our Membership Coordinator.

Thank you to Jamie Unruh for her contributions as Communications Assistant. Jamie supported RCA through the transition to a new publisher, helped set up and refine our new systems for gathering content and developed a much-loved column Our People, Our Community.

  1. Mission Hill Church – Christmas Eve Service

Mission Hill Church is offering two Christmas Eve service times to accommodate their growing church community. Everyone is welcome to attend on Tuesday, December 24, at 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm.
