Hello Neighbours!
Fall is upon us, and our community is looking lovely with all of the leaves turning. With the return to school and work, we’ve all got a lot of adjusting to do (and not just to our clocks on November 1!) Fall is also the time that we reset and revisit schedules and habits in our own lives. Do you feel like trying something new this October? Be sure to check out what is happening in our CKE Community Association Hall’s gym, event spaces, and fitness studios at https://ckecommunity.com/ to turn over your own new leaf!
Fall is also the time that we kick off our Annual Membership Drive. Have you got your 2021 CKE Community Association Membership yet? Now is the time to sign up to support your community! We’ve got some new plans in place to keep our neighbours safe during this year’s membership drive, so we won’t be having canvassers go door to door. Instead, please go to ckecommunity.com/membership to purchase your CKE Community Association membership today. Still want to use the paper form? Feel free to clip out the one in this month’s newsletter and drop it off in our Hall mailbox at 1015 – 73 Avenue SW (or call Louise at 403-289-2724 to arrange for us to pick up the form from your home). Due to COVID-19 closures and safety measures, our Community Association Hall has lost five months of revenue, and we’ve had to cancel our key fundraiser for the year. Purchasing a 2021 CKE Community Association membership is more important than ever this fall, and we deeply appreciate those community members who have already done so.
I know I speak on behalf of our board and all of our CKE volunteers when I wish you all a warm Thanksgiving full of gratitude and joy. We’ve got a lot to be grateful for this month, as you’ll see in the pages of this newsletter. From bottle drives (our next one is November 7), to a newly resurfaced tennis court, to Halloween fun, our CKE community is more vibrant than ever, and that is all thanks to our amazing neighbours. Thank you everyone for making CKE a great place to be!
Stay well, stay safe, and stay in touch!
