Message from the CECA Board for May

Evergreen cn

Thank you, residents, and businesses of beautiful Evergreen!

CECA’s annual Easter Egg Hunt was again a great success this year. The event was attended by more than 350 kids and their families. Thank you to all attendees, community, and board volunteers. We were able to combat the lineups this year, thanks to residents who purchased/renewed their memberships online before the event. The lineups were very light this year.

A huge thank you goes to Shoppers Drug Mart in Evergreen, Calgary Foundation, Roadmark Driving School, the office of Eric Bouchard, and the office of Dan McLean for their support and generous donations. With your sponsorship and support we are able to run programs and serve our community.

We are starting the preparations for the Community Cleanup Event that is planned to be held on Saturday, June 29, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 30 Everstone Blvd SW, Calgary, AB T2Y 4S5. This event usually hosts more than 700 people helping them clear their garages/houses of unwanted items. If you can volunteer for this community event, please email [email protected].

Plans are on the way to hold another session of the Babysitting and Home Alone program. This program has been offered for many years now and is always sold-out.

We are looking for a permit/development director to join our enthusiastic board. We meet in person/online each second Thursday of the month 7:00 to 8:30 pm. This position requires four to six hours a month. If you have the time to help your community and would like to join us, please email us at [email protected]

If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions please contact us anytime using our Facebook page, email, or phone us at 403-397-7722.
